Carer's and Pensioner's Bonuses

C'mon all you carers and pensioners and family and friends of same. Make a big noise and protest the possibility of the government cutting the bonus scheme. If no-one makes a fuss, it will surely go through and many people will be disadvantaged.

If all those being cared for at home went into institutionalised care, the cost to the government would be far greater than the amount paid to the carer. Most aged pensioners have worked all their adult life until retirement age. Their bonus is small return for all those years.

Phone into talkback radio, phone, write or visit your local member and make it clear that this cutback simply would not be acceptable to the community in general.

OOps

Sorry unclebuc - I stand (well sit actually) corrected. The self-funded retirees are another group that get short changed. There are just soooooo many holes in the system these days it is reminiscent of a seive.
